I ordered this CCTV camera as it appeared to be compact and easy to fit, I also needed a camera that could operate at night, as the lighting in that location is very poor at night. The camera was relatively easy to set up, despite my shocking lack of knowledge about anything remotely technical, however it was quickly working, and I've found the App easy to use. The picture quality even in low light is extremely clear, surprisingly so considering the very reasonable price of the unit.Overall I am extremely pleased with the camera, particularly in terms of ease of use, and image quality, an I am more than happy to recommend it.
This camera is well made and great value - but only if you have a suitable location and set-up for it.The first thing to note is that it requires power. That means you'll need a USB power source near to the camera. Also, thanks to the design of the camera, this can only be wall mounted, mounting in an 'upside down' position with the camera pointing down. For this reason, it's going to be best mounted quite high, probably under the eves of a roof.If you can deal with all that, then it's a great value camera. You get pan and tilt, and a quite reasonable app that's fairly easy to set up and use. I found it on a par with most other camera apps that I've tried, and it does the job - although I would prefer not having to have a dozen different apps for each brand of camera I own.You can set it up to record and get notifications of motion quite easily, as well as monitor it live and move the camera around, so it handles the basics quite well. For the price at the time of ordering, I do think this is good value. But you do need an external wall with power nearby to be able to use it, so it's worth keeping that in mind.
A few limitations that you will encounter during installation of this camera. The first one is that the power that feeds this camera is via USB-A, a hard wired cable that cannot be unplugged. This means if you plan to install this through a brick wall, you'll have to drill a very large hole to push a USB-A plug through, or find an alternate way to run the cable. The last resort would be to cut the cable and reconnect. not recommended.Another issue is that it's a one-piece unit, so when mounting onto the wall, you're holding the camera and bracket together.Apart from this, if this is a single camera in your house, then you'll not experience any issues linking up to an existing system, but if you have a system already in place and you want to link this one up to the kit, then you're limited and will need to use the dedicated ARCCTV app.I've had an account with them previously, so if you're logging in after some time, within the app, there is a separate database that you need to log in through and you can't re-register via the new database, something that took me ages to find out.As for the quality of the camera, be in night or day, you will get crystal clear images with no issues, no lagging, and infact it's very responsive when panning or tilting.
The media could not be loaded.
Exceptional value security camera for the price with loads of great features. The camera looks and feels robust and professional, as the lens rotate through the angles, everything is silent, smooth and concise. The dual antenna link up to your phone or PC esaily and instantly, having great directional movememnt to get the best signal.THis has many, many options, we've got it oddl enough for tracking wildlife in the garden, having badgers, foxes and other visitors. So using infrared when a critter pops in, the camera tracks it and gives us an insight as it's movements and directions. When we get a couple of badgers and foxxes all at once the camera does get a little confused if they all disperse at once, but whilst together the camera remains vert stable, giving us wonderful recording and\or images on out phone or pc.For security this has nightlight options with spot lights, immediately revealing the vistor, there's a siren that we've not tried to be fair, but can understand it would be a great deterent, plus 2 way audio for speaking to or warning off the vistor. The picture quality in both modes is brilliant, day time obviously crystal clear with great night vision to.It's powered by a USB plug, as we move it around about, we found our large battery pack works fine for a good 5-6hrs depending on whats being recorded, the recording clearly using more juice. We are recording onto sd card which slots easily into the device, as it's overnight usage.Really is a great piece of kit at a great price.
I am using this CCTV camera to replace a much older one that failed after about four years following a bad storm. This new camera is also an upgrade, thanks to the very useful PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) feature, and installation on the wall was simple and straightforward. The Wi-Fi setup is easy to connect, and it was quite charming and novel to hear a female voice with a British accent coming from the camera to guide me through the process. The overall construction feels a bit light, but still perfectly suitable. Since it is mostly made of plastic, it should withstand various weather conditions, even if it may not be as long-lasting as more professional (and far more expensive) metal models.I like the speed of the PTZ motor, which feels far more responsive and quicker than a couple I have used previously. The video quality is also clear and very good in both day and night modes. I am not entirely convinced the sensor is a true 4K type, but combined with the wide viewing angle, it is more than sufficient for most situations and provides an excellent view of the road and anyone approaching the house. At £40, the price is very good for the quality of this CCTV camera. However, I dropped a star because of the power delivery: it uses a USB Type-A connector. Some CCTV cameras are solar-powered, but since I installed this one in a shaded location, I didn’t mind using a power cable. My issue is that I was hoping for a smaller connector, like USB-C or even micro-USB, which would have allowed me to drill a smaller hole in the wall. The cable is fixed to the camera and ends in a Type-A connector on the other side. The provided USB charger is also not suitable for outdoor use, so drilling through the wall became the only viable option.
I was curious to see how much performance you actually get from a security camera at this price point, so I set this up overlooking the driveway. First tip straight away, set it up indoors before mounting it. The app talks quite loudly during setup, which is fine in the kitchen but might raise eyebrows if you start chatting to your wall outside.Getting it running was straightforward. Plug it in, follow the app steps, and it connects quickly to WiFi. The dual band support helps keep the connection stable, and I had very little lag when checking the live feed. The image quality is impressive for a 4MP camera. Daytime footage is crisp, and the colour night vision works surprisingly well, picking up detail rather than just vague shapes. The pan and tilt feature is genuinely useful, letting me scan across the whole area without repositioning the camera.Auto tracking is where it gets quite entertaining. It will happily follow movement, including anything from a person to a wandering cat. It is effective, though sensitivity may need tweaking unless you want constant alerts every time something moves in the wind.A couple of practical points. It is mains powered via USB, with around a 2.5 to 3 metre cable, so placement depends on having a nearby power source or running an extension. Also, a microSD card is not included, so you will need to factor that in if you want local recording. At £39.99, it offers a lot of features for the money, especially with 24/7 recording capability.I hope you found my review helpful and informative.
So Ive been running my home security through a well known camera provider from some years now but as these don’t constantly record or have very limited motion range ability I miss a few things where some footage of the street from the night before would be great!I ordered this 4MP 2.4G/5GHz Security Camera Outdoor, CCTV Camera with Auto Tracking to give it a proper test and see if it is reliable enough to watch my main gatesI decided to set it up before installing it outside to make things easier. Setup is really straight forward… just simply plug it in via the very generous length power-lead that comes in the box and download the app… Its all step by step and very easy to setup. This found my camera instantly and each step was really easy and I was done in a few minutes.. Very impressive! You have two options for storage of footage.. a mini SD memory card that goes into the bottom of the camera (have to buy separately) or pay for cloud storage. I opted for the memory card as I have subscriptions coming out my ears and trying my best to avoid anymore, although the cloud storage does have its benefits. Then I simply screwed the bracket into place and then screwed the camera onto that. Drilled a small hole through the bedroom window and ran the power lead to a plug. Super simple and all set up.Camera footage is great and a big step up form the last system I was using with barely any lag to my phone. Moving the camera around is really intuitive and responsive and theres a load of settings to fine tune alarms/human tracking and recording. It also allows you to very simply add additional cameras if you so please so you can secure your whole house! Overall Im super happy with all this camera!
I like this ARCCTV Security Camera a lot...For ~£40 I was neither expectating a particularly feature-rich device nor one with a half-decent picture quality, especially at night.....and I was wrong on both counts, this ARCCTV Camera has a ton of features and an extremely impressive picture, both daytime and, in particular, night. (the photo shows the garden pretty-much in pitch dark). Note that this item is USB-Powered (something not mentioned anywhere in the listing as far as I could tell) - so you will need a USB adaptor to plug in the admittedly extremely long (3m) power cable. The accompanying ARCCTV App is required to set up the camera (best done inside the house as it talks to you LOUDLY!) and this is where the functionality comes to life - a bit of trial and error enables you to set up Infra-Red night time (rather than blinding white spotlights!!) and movement tracking....it's got lots of features to play with! However, like many chinese apps, seems to require far too much information - so I would recommend undertaking the set up carefully, potentially with an email specifically for these smart home appliances. Likewise, there is a WindowsPC App (from CCTVDesk) which is nowhere near as intuitive to use or, importantly, set-up.....but let's be honest, you're going to want to use this from your phone anyway.Overall, this easily gets 5-Stars - the ability to Pan almost 360-degrees and Tilt from horizonal to vertical means that positioning the camera is easier than for a fixed camera. Consequently, if you've only got £100 to spend on security cameras, then 2 of these will be better than a single, more-expensive camera for sure.
It is very good
Works well and amazing for the price.
Very good. Would buy again
I bought this ARCCTV P2 camera for monitoring my driveway and front entrance, and so far I’m very happy with it. The 4MP picture quality is clear and sharp during the day, and the colour night vision is much better than I expected, making it easier to recognise people and details at night. The 360° pan and tilt feature is one of the best parts because it covers a much larger area than a fixed camera. Auto motion tracking works well and follows movement smoothly without constantly missing activity. I also like having 24-hour recording for extra peace of mind.Setup was fairly straightforward, and the dual-band WiFi connection helped keep the signal stable. The two-way audio is useful for speaking to delivery drivers or checking who is outside without opening the door. Alexa integration also worked without problems. The build quality feels solid, and it has handled rain and changing weather conditions well so far.The only small downside is that because it’s a wired camera, installation takes a bit more planning than a battery-powered option.Overall, a reliable outdoor security camera with good image quality, wide coverage, and useful smart features. Great value for home security.
I have been using this ARCCTV camera for a few weeks now and it does exactly what I need. The image quality at 4MP is crisp enough to see details clearly in the garden. I particularly like that it supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi, as my connection has remained stable without any drops. The auto tracking feature works well and follows movement around the yard quite smoothly.Setting it up was straightforward and the pan and tilt controls are responsive through the app. The colour night vision is a nice bonus, making it easy to identify visitors even when it is pitch black outside. The two way audio is clear enough to chat with a courier if I am not at home. It has survived a few heavy downpours already, so I am confident in the waterproof rating. It is not overly complicated to manage and provides peace of mind for a sensible price.
I picked up the ARCCTV security camera and, given the price, I wasn’t expecting much beyond a basic setup. I was pleasantly surprised by how feature-rich it is for around £40. It can pan almost 360 degrees and tilt, which makes positioning much easier than with a fixed camera, and the tracking does a decent job of keeping a moving subject roughly in frame. Daylight pictures are sharp and the night mode holds up well thanks to infrared, which keeps things visible even when it’s dark. It’s powered by USB, and the 3-metre lead is useful, but you will need a suitable USB adaptor and a nearby power outlet.Setup is handled in the ARCCTV app, and for me it’s a bit of a mixed bag: the prompts work and it gets things going, but the process can feel a touch loud and it asks for a fair bit of information. There’s also a Windows PC app (from CCTVDesk) but it isn’t as intuitive as using the phone app, so you’ll likely end up using the mobile experience most of the time. Connectivity is solid on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks, which helps keep lag to a minimum when you’re viewing from another room.In use, the two-way audio is clear enough for deliveries and quick messages, and the AI tracking is handy for keeping a person in view as they move about. Some false alarms can crop up - nature and small intruders like moths seem to trigger alerts - and you’ll want to tweak the sensitivity a bit. A couple of practical notes: the power lead is attached to the camera and ends in a bulky USB-A plug, so you’ll need a reasonably accessible wall hole and a plan for where the cable runs. There’s no microSD card included, so you’ll want to budget for storage if you’re not using a cloud option. If you can accommodate the fixed power lead and a wall mount high enough to aim down, this camera offers excellent value and a surprisingly feature-rich experience.
This is a good little camera that's easy to set up with the app and picture quality is pretty good especially for the price. Where it losess out for me is the power source. Bing powered by USB has made it all but impossible to mount the camera anywhere useful. How many of us have USB sockets outside the house? For this reason I have only been able to set it up for test purposes but am struggling to think where I can permanently mount the camera as I just don't have any USB sockets that are close enough.
The 360-degree rotation covers everything, and the clarity is top-notch. Honestly, setup was a breeze. Planning to grab a few more soon!
